Story Finders is an exciting new BBC Northern Ireland project which has enabled people across Northern Ireland to share their own personal stories and those of their community, and to showcase those stories on this site.
|
This is YOUR chance to get involved………
If you enjoy sharing a good story with family and friends, then you may be interested in sharing your stories with a wider audience – telling them what you care passionately about.
|
|
Story Finders has provided seven groups with the opportunity to gather stories for the internet, radio and television. To view these groups you can goto the main Storyfinders website and read up on them. To read up on the Limavady group you can follow us to the main Limavady page.
A Story Finders group will be selected from each county and will be involved in developing this independent website, which will belong to their community and will reflect stories from their local area.
|
The seven groups that are taking part in Storyfinders are:
- Belleek
- Castlederg
- Craigavon
- Dervock
- Gilford
- Limavady
- Newry
In turn, the Story Finders groups are expected to pass on the skills they have learned so that others can share their stories as well. Most of us don’t realise we have a story to tell so an important aspect of the project is helping others to ‘find’ their own stories.
Video, stills and audio recording equipment and training were provided and support and guidance was available throughout the life of this two-year project.
Six centres were established across Northern Ireland, workshops and events held to get people reading and telling digital stories online, particularly here on the Story Finders website. |
If you think you could motivate and inspire people in your community to share stories, then complete the Story Finders form here on the site to register your interest. (This form can also be printed off and posted to:
