Health & Safety Policy
When using a computer you are advised to follow the guidelines below to prevent any possible risk to your health:
  • Take a break from using the computer if you feel any pain in the following areas of your body:
    • Eyes
    • Neck
    • Back
    • Shoulders
    • Elbows
    • Wrists
    • Fingers
    • Bottom
  • Take regular breaks (a minimum of 5 minutes every hour is the government regulation)
  • Do not sit in one position at the computer for a long time, move around
  • Adjust the chair so that your eyes are approximately level with anywhere between the middle and top of the monitor
  • Adjust the chair back so that it supports your back
  • Keep your forearms as near to horizontal as possible when typing
  • Get your eyesight tested regularly
