When using a computer you are advised to follow the guidelines below to prevent any possible risk to your health:
- Take a break from using the computer if you feel any pain in the following areas of your body:
- Eyes
- Neck
- Back
- Shoulders
- Elbows
- Wrists
- Fingers
- Bottom
- Take regular breaks (a minimum of 5 minutes every hour is the government regulation)
- Do not sit in one position at the computer for a long time, move around
- Adjust the chair so that your eyes are approximately level with anywhere between the middle and top of the monitor
- Adjust the chair back so that it supports your back
- Keep your forearms as near to horizontal as possible when typing
- Get your eyesight tested regularly
